I am drawn to the tactile engagement of materials and the strangeness of a beautiful painting that doesn’t behave beautifully. This body of work is concerned with spatial shifts, areas of surprise, tensions between gesture and restraint, and the language of color. When I feel emotional honesty in a work of art, I am energized.
