I am drawn to the tactile engagement of painting materials. Surface forms gather, dissolve, hover, and disappear. I am interested in marks, edges, interruptions, and spatial shifts that emerge and recede.
My work is rooted in lyrical abstraction, where gesture and color are held in tension with restraint. A small gesture can carry great weight.
I am drawn to the strangeness of a beautiful painting that doesn’t behave beautifully.
