I am drawn to the physicality of making a painting and the tactile engagement of materials. I am drawn to the language of color and the charged attributes of a hand-drawn line. Paint layers build relationships of interconnectedness and moments of surprise. When I feel emotional honesty in a work of art, I am energized.
