I am drawn to the tactile engagement of materials and the strangeness of a beautiful painting that doesn’t behave beautifully. This body of work is concerned with the language of color, spatial shifts, tensions between gesture and restraint, and the unexpected. When I feel emotional honesty in a work of art, I am energized.
