I am energized by emotional honesty in a work of art.

My work is rooted in lyrical abstraction, but I am interested in restraint, interruptions, and spatial shifts. I like the tension between gesture and restraint.

I am drawn to the strangeness of a beautiful painting that doesn’t behave beautifully.
